My Computer Lost Its Mind
Nov. 2nd, 2012 08:53 amWhen updating the BIOS, somehow my PC decided to sever the actual boot code from the boot sector (actually, probably much more complex than that, because I did get the initial Windows 7 boot screen, just nothing further).
At 10:00 last night I pulled the life support and re-installed Windows 7.
The good news is that I keep all my data on separate volumes so that I can easily reconnect once I get the actual programs reloaded.
The bad news is programs like winSCP and putty that keep their preferences in the registry will have to be reloaded. Bleah.
And I'll bet that the new BIOS didn't fix Total War: Shogun 2 anyway.
