A Fantabulous Beltane
May. 3rd, 2010 08:50 pmWe had a magnificant time celebrating Beltane in a clearing in Avon, along with 20 or so other folks, many of whom jumped their first balefire and danced their first Maypole. Many thanks to all those who made it possible - you know who you are!
We then struggled awake at o-dark-thirty and blearily hit the airport for a trip to Atlanta and the Oak Spring 10th Anniversary Celebration, where we jumped the balefire, burned a representative of the mortgage on the first piece of property paid off by Oak Spring, jumped the balefire (again), and danced the Maypole. We saw many people we haven't seen in far too long - not just the Oak Spring members who live in our hearts, but also our dear littermate sister, her husband, and their fantastic circle of celebrants.
Add to that a Sunday spent in Grandpa heaven and it has been more than enough to carry me through a week long business trip out here to Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Happy Beltane and may your summer be joyous!
