Exterior painting is complete and it looks lovely. [livejournal.com profile] ladyat has planted many colorful flowers around and about the yard. We have received lots of compliments from our neighbors on both the state of the house and the state of the yard, with many opining that we should have no problem getting our asking price.

The back yard is mostly cleared and is waiting for sod and destruction of the remaining brushpile. The current mental argument about the brushpile is whether to spend a day or three chipping all of it (thus adding to carbon pollution from an internal combustion engine) or to burn it (taking less time but adding to carbon pollution through external combustion). Leaving it in a pile is sadly not an option, as it would draw unpleasant vermin.

Tomorrow we meet with the contractor and arrange for the new front door, the interior painting and repair, and the kitchen face-lift. After that comes the new carpet.

Even with all this to do I managed to get our taxes done and snuck off Saturday morning to play my first tennis match of the season. [livejournal.com profile] ladyat was a bit perturbed at the fact that it took over 3 hours to play the match (leaving her to do much of the back yard on her own), as it went 3 long sets, but we won so that's all good, right? Right?
