I am a random fan who ran across your LJ and then DW. You need neither follow nor grant access; mostly I gripe about the ungodly stress-levels of everyone in the household (being sick most of last year DID NOT HELP), and the only person I expect to read my blog is my mom. So she knows I'm not dead or something. So if you run 'cross me as a "follows my blog" entry, now you know you can just ignore me and I'll probably never notice. *grin*

For icons... maybe the people at http://style-system.dreamwidth.org would know?
