Ernest Clark
Some very sad news that I think we can electronically release, as the obituary is posted on the net and the SCA lists have been notified.
Ernest Clark of filk and SCA renown died suddenly on Sunday night.
I knew him from my earliest days in Midwest fandom, but never got to know him as well as I would have liked. He and Sara came to our housefilks after we moved to Indiana, and he always brought something great I'd never heard him do before (as well as often bringing something bottled that was scrumptious). We were very much looking forward to spending more time with him at the upcoming Chambanacon.
The obituary and services information are here.
I don't know what it is about mid-January.

I treasure my recordings of three songs Ernie sang at OVFF 2, including his beautiful setting of When Earth's Last Picture is Painted. Rest, Ernie. "Lie down for an aeon or two. 'Till the Master of All Good Workmen shall put you to work anew."
